Intro to Linux (for girls)

Although programming is a great career within the IT fields, it is not the only one. Someone needs to install and manage the systems that the programmers use! Come get a feel for what it’s like to manage a system and learn what it takes to be a “System Administrator” of a Linux Server!

In this hands-on seminar, students will be introduced to the Linux operating system and learn shell commands including how to add new users, add new software, copy and create files, and kill processes. The students will even set up their system and get introduced to programming tools that come with Linux.
