Introduction to Embedded - the ARM Platform

ARM is an extremely prolific microcontroller and microprocessor architecture. Manufacturers place ARM devices in just about every piece of hardware you use. At Embedded Philly we’ve decided to take advantage of the widespread adoption of this platform and create a series of lessons on ARM to introduce the community to embedded development.

At this event we will talk about the process of programming the MSP432, our dev board of choice, from writing a simple program, through compilation, to flashing the device. We’ll walk through some of the technical details about what’s happening beneath the surface and touch on why the process seems so complicated but also why you shouldn’t be afraid to jump right in.

We’ll take some questions at the end, and if time permits we have some MSP432 devices to hack.

Bring your laptop if you want to hack!

As always, this meeting will be located at the awesome Arcweb Technologies office in Old City. Be prepared to eat as we will supply some delicious pizza from a local pizza shop.
