The Accessible World Conference 2016
The Accessible World is the first and one of its kind conference being hosted in Philadelphia, PA that will provide a platform to several students, professionals and researchers to share their work on making this world a more accessible place. This conference will cover six different tracks: Technology, Education, Media, Healthcare, Recreation, and Policy and Public Sector and will attract nationwide as well as international audience. There will also be lightning talks from several people with disabilities. This two day conference will help the audience stay up to date with the recent advancements in the area of Accessibility and learn ways to keep their organization/community in sync with such advancements.
TAW Conference will feature TEDx-type presentations and each speaker will be given a maximum of 15 minutes to share their work. Considering the diverse audience of the conference, the presentations will take a layman's approach for maximum absorption of the ideas. The talks would not be focused on selling or advertising of products and/or services but would answer the following questions:
- What was the motivation behind the idea?
- What is the impact of the idea on your community?
- How was the idea executed and successfully implemented?
- How can the audience introduce the idea to their respective communities?
