Janina Iwaszko
Bio
Janina has a background in scientific research with a PhD in Medical Biophysics. Then followed several busy years as a Head of Department for Science, at Manchester Adult Education College. She then followed her heart and qualified in medicine in 1991 and has worked in emergency and adult medicine before specialising in Medical Education.
For the last eight years she has been working clinically and teaching in medical education, most recently as a Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow and Clinical Lead for Acute Medical Simulation. She achieved her Masters in Medical Education in 2014. Janina first taught PA's in 2008, and soon realised what a major positive impact this new profession was going to have on the NHS in the UK and is now Course Director for the PA Masters course at Worcester University. Her research interests include qualitative research, the early acquisition of clinical competence, clinical reasoning, improving patient safety and use of simulation in interprofessional clinical training.
